David Brett Norman, 36, of 19024 White Oak Drive, died Saturday, April 13, 1996.
A native of Washington, D.C., he was a rural mail carrier in Suffolk for the U.S. Postal Service. He was a Baptist and U.S. Army veteran. David was the son of the late Edward C. Norman.
Survivors include his mother, Frances Fletcher Norman of Durham, N.C.; his fiancee, Arlene Giles of Smithfield; a sister, Karen N. Gunter of Suffolk; three brothers, Tim M. Norman and Kelvin E. Norman, both of Smithfield and Galen D. Norman of College Park, Md.
A funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. Tuesday in Colonial Funeral Home, Smithfield, by Dr. Alan R. Felumlee. Burial will follow in St. Lukes Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. today at the funeral home and suggest that memorial contributions may be made to The Children's Center, 700 Campbell Ave., Franklin, Va. 23851.
