CARL C. CATON

Carl Clifton Caton, 81, died Friday, April 12, 1996 in Dillon, S.C.

He was born in Aurora, N.C., to Rena Rowe and John Caton, and is the widower of Peggy Caton.

He had a 42-year career with the C & P Telephone Company and was a longtime member of the Wards Corner Lion's Club. Earlier he was active with the Boy Scouts and Sea Scouts as scoutmaster. He was an avid outdoorsman and waterman.

He is survived by a sister, Louise Whitehurst, and by his two sons, Patrick and Daniel Caton; and daughter, Sister Johanna Caton. He is also survived by three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held at the Southgate Chapel of Epworth United Methodist Church at the corner of Freemason and Boush Streets at 11 a.m. Wednesday, with a reception immediately following.
