To quote Governor Allen from an April 12 news report: ``We are all committed to working for cleaner air and water. My amendments provide greater opportunity for adversely affected citizens to challenge regulatory actions.''
Let me remind your readers that the bill becomes law only after the governor has exhausted all possible appeals of his latest lawsuit against the EPA.
The governor lost in federal district court, and it appears that he is planning an appeal of this decision. While the governor gives lip service to this right of citizens to challenge the decisions made by political appointees affecting their air and water quality, he continues to spend citizens' tax dollars fighting against giving them that right! It is no wonder that he has such a huge credibility gap with his public.
The governor should drop the lawsuit and spend my tax dollars fighting for Virginians, not against them.
