Gerard J. Byrnes, 47, of the 1200 block of Glyndon Drive, died April 16, 1996, in a Norfolk hospital.
He was a stock clerk for Key Food in New York and a native of Brooklyn, N.Y. He was a member of St. Matthews Catholic Church.
He is survived by four sisters, Rosemarie, Kathleen, Elizabeth, all of Virginia Beach, Maryann of Staten Island, N.Y.; five brothers, Charles and Arthur of Staten Island, N.Y., William, Fred, and Tim, all of Virginia Beach; and a host of nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, aunts, and uncles.
A funeral will be conducted at 10 a.m. Saturday by Father Tim Drake in Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Indian River Chapel. Burial will be in Chesapeake Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Friday from 7 to 9 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
