Hilton C. Cassell, 78, of the 3400 block of Galberry Road, died April 16, 1996, at Beverly Manor of Portsmouth.
Mr. Cassell, a lifelong farmer, was a 20-year retired truck driver and security guard from the U.S. Coast Guard. He was a native of Norfolk County and the widower of Sarah I. Cassell. He was a member of Chuckatuck and Winton Hunting Clubs.
Survivors include a daughter, Hilda C. Cuffee and her husband, William Cuffee, of Chesapeake; two sons, Clyde E. Cassell and his wife, Ann Cassell, and Michael E. Cassell and his wife, Sharon Cassell, all of Chesapeake; three sisters, Hurley Gwynn, Mary Wilson and Jocelyn Cuffee, all of Chesapeake; a brother, Waverly Cassell of Chesapeake; four grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws and friends.
The funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. Saturday at Divine Baptist Church by the Rev. J.R. Briggs. Burial will be in Cassell Family Cemetery, Chesapeake, with military honors. Viewing at Corprew Funeral Home will begin at 10 a.m. Friday. The body will be taken to the church at 11 a.m. Saturday.
