Gov. George F. Allen recently appointed Chesapeake Vice Mayor Robert T. Nance Jr. and City Councilman Alan P. Krasnoff to serve on the Hampton Roads Air Quality Committee. The committee is responsible for carrying out the planning requirements under Section 174 of the Clean Air Act for the Hampton Roads Ozone Non-attainment Area. HRAQC is also responsible for assisting in the development of the area's regional air quality plan and providing assistance in deciding on appropriate pollution control measures for the region. by CNB
