TAKE YOUR SECRETARY TO NINTH ANNUAL LUNCH AND FASHION SHOW

Forget the traditional flowers and high-calorie treats this Secretaries Day. This year you can let your secretary know how much you appreciate her, or him, and do something nice for your community, too.

The ninth annual Secretaries Day Lunch and Fashion Show at the Holiday Inn Chesapeake will take place on April 24. Lunch will be served at noon, with the fashion show beginning at 12:30. The event will benefit the Chesapeake Volunteers in Youth Services program.

This is no ordinary fashion show, either. Among the models from Charm Associates will be some familiar Chesapeake faces. Taking a spin on the runway this year will be: Commissioner of the Revenue Ray Conner, Bob Oman of Oman's Funeral Home, Sheriff's Deputy Eli Webb, Alphonso Nation of Chesapeake Volunteers in Youth Services, Housekeeping Supervisor Jake Frazier, Parks and Recreation Advisory Board Member Frank Ziegenfuss, Real Estate Assessor Larry Street, local musician Lewis McGehee and Councilman W. Joe Newman. All models will be wearing fashions from Proffitts with accessories from Lili's of Ghent. Potted mums will give the show the feel of spring, thanks to White's Nursery.

In addition to the fun, food and fashion, there will be several raffles during the afternoon. Chances will be available for prizes such as one night's stay and dinner for two at the Holiday Inn Chesapeake, gift certificates for Pizza Hut and Knox Studio, a basket of assorted goodies from Beacon of Gifts, artwork from the Ann Nicole Gallery and a basket of lotions from Body Works.

Tickets are $20 per person and can be purchased from Chesapeake Volunteers in Youth Services or any fashion show committee member. For information, call Judy Alexander at 547-6411 or Dourina McCullen at 436-8196. by CNB
