TOO TAXING

Our government exacts tribute once again on April 15. We should all be aware of our current individual tax burdens as reported by the Tax Foundation:

The average worker must work two hours and 47 minutes out of each eight-hour day just to earn enough to pay federal, state and local taxes. That is 25.8 percent of the day, or until 15 minutes before noon.

In addition, the average American will pay more this year in taxes than for food, clothing and shelter combined.

Why do we tolerate such confiscation?
