Jack Eric Griffin, 77, of the 3700 block of Cardinal Lane, died April 17, 1996, in his residence.
He was a retired architect and a member of the Loyal Order of the Moose (NU)898. He was a native of Newport News and an Army veteran of World War II.
He is survived by his wife, Nancy Gilbert Griffin; daughter, Erica Lynn G. Butler of Suffolk; son, David Hunter Griffin of Richmond; stepson, B. Lawrence Barnes III of Newport Beach, Calif.; granddaughter, Sarah Elizabeth Butler of Suffolk; two sisters, Rosa G. Kittrell of Portsmouth and Elsie G. Felhaber of Red Bank, N.J.; three brothers, his twin brother, Carl J. Griffin of Chesapeake, and Ernest E. Griffin of Portsmouth and Richard W. Griffin of Suffolk; four nieces; and three nephews.
A funeral will be conducted at 3 p.m. today in Loving Funeral Home Chapel by the Rev. Clayton Robertson. In lieu of flowers, the family suggest memorial contributions to the Portsmouth Humane Society. Loving Funeral Home, Churchland, is in charge.
