Irene C. Whitehurst, of the 1900 block of Gumbridge Road, died April 13, 1996.
Mrs. Whitehurst, a native of Princess Anne County, was a member of Asbury United Methodist Church, Virginia Beach. She was retired from Virginia Beach schools.
Survivors include her husband, Stanley E. Whitehurst; two daughters, Debbie Whitehurst and Regina Whitehurst, both of Virginia Beach; two sons, Stanley Whitehurst Jr. of Virginia Beach and Michael Whitehurst of Richmond, Va.; her stepmother, Algie Whitehurst of Virginia Beach; two sisters, Evelyn Whitehurst and Idella Cornick, both of Virginia Beach; 15 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; three nieces; and a host of other relatives and friends.
The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. today at Asbury United Methodist Church by the Rev. John Haynes. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Community Funeral Home, Virginia Beach Chapel, is in charge.
