JAMES V. TIMMERMAN

Lt. Cmdr. James V. Timmerman, 57, of the 200 block of Japonica Drive, died Friday, April 19, 1996, at Albemarle Hospital.

He was a native of Detroit, Mich., employed at TAMSCO. He retired from the U.S. Coast Guard after 21 years of service. He was a member of the Retired Officers Association, the First Church of Christ, Scientist, and The Pterodactyl Society.

Mr. Timmerman was the son of the late Valere and Margaret Brown Timmerman and the husband of Phyllis Dozier Timmerman of the home.

Besides his wife, Mr. Timmerman is survived by two sons, Capt. Michael J. Timmerman of Montgomery, Ala., and Patrick J. Timmerman of Newtonville, Mass.; a sister, Carolyn Hoffman of Foster City, Calif.; three grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

The funeral will be conducted Sunday at 3 p.m. in Twiford's Memorial Chapel, Elizabeth City. The family will receive friends at the residence. Memorial donations may be made to the First Church of Christ, Scientist, Norfolk.
