EMORY F. MUTTER

Emory Franklin Mutter, 74, of the first block of Crawford Parkway, died April 19, 1996, at a Portsmouth hospital.

Mr. Mutter, a native of Buchanan County, Va., retired from Norfolk and Southern Railroad after 30 years as a machinist. He was a member of Court Street Baptist Church, Tidal Wave Masonic Lodge (NU)273, Scottish Rite Bodies, and Esther Chapter (NU)37 Order of the Eastern Star. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II.

Survivors include his wife, Marguerite Mountcastle Mutter; a sister, Evelyn Deskins of Urbanna, Ohio; and several nieces and nephews.

The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Monday by Dr. Wilbur Kersey at Court Street Baptist Church. Burial will be in Olive Branch Cemetery. A visitation will be Sunday from 5 to 6 p.m. at Loving Funeral Home, Churchland.
