Mr. Thomas Milton Hamill, 71, of 304 E. Broad St., died Friday, April 19, 1996, at Maryview Hospital in Portsmouth.
He was a native of Richmond, Va., and a retired civil service employee. He was a veteran of World War II, and the son of the late Sterling and Lottie Browning Hamill, and the husband of Anna Gift Hamill of the home.
Besides his wife, Mr. Hamill is survived by a daughter, Linda H. Johnson, and her husband, Bill; a son, Thomas ``Sonny'' Hamill Jr., and his wife, Debbie, all of the Weeksville area of Elizabeth City; grandchild, Cheryl B. Cox; and a great-grandchild, Kristin Nichole Cox, both of Hertford, N.C.
A funeral will be conducted at 3:30 p.m. Monday in Twiford's Memorial Chapel, Elizabeth City, by the Rev. Bill Ruth and the Rev. David Moehring. Burial will follow in the Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Sunday from 7 to 8:30 p.m.
