John F. Hughes Jr. of Manteo was elected to the Board of Directors of The East Carolina Bank at the bank's annual shareholders meeting in Englehard Friday.
Hughes is manager of the Coastal Region of North Carolina Power. ``We are extremely pleased that John has accepted this position and feel that he will enhance the work of the board with his business experience,'' said Bank President and CEO Arthur H. Keeney III after Hughes' election. by CNB
