WALTER W. DILLARD SR.

Walter Wayne Dillard Sr., died April 4, 1996, at his home.

A native of Philadelphia, he was a manager with Merchant's Tire Service in Hampton and Norfolk. He transferred to Merchant's in Greensboro, N.C., in January 1995. He was the Worshipful Master of the Joe F. Boone Lodge No. 30 Chapter of the Ancient Accepted Scottish Rites for three years in Portsmouth.

Surviving are his wife, Linda Strange Dillard; two sons, Dewayne Dillard of Axton and Walter Wayne Dillard Jr. of Houston, Texas; two brothers, Edd Jones of Mt. Vernon, N.Y., and Eddie Hairston of Cascade; two sisters, Pearlie Carter of Axton and Ellen Trammer of Warrensville, Ohio; and two grandchildren.

The funeral was Monday, April 8, 1996 at 2 p.m. in Moral Hill Missionary Baptist Church, Martinsville, Va. Burial was in the Dillard-Moyer family cemetery, Axton.
