Melvin F. Drier, 61, died Monday, April 15, 1996.
Mr. Drier was a native of Mackinaw City, Mich., and had been a resident of Pensacola since 1984. He retired as a Lt. Commander from the U.S. Navy and was a member of Ferry Pass Masonic Lodge No. 348. Mr. Drier was preceded in death by his mother, Frances Drier, and his sister, Shirley Andrews.
He is survived by his wife, Arlene M. Drier; daughter, Sharon Rivas; son, Jerald Drier; father, Myron Drier Sr.; four brothers, Myron Drier Jr., R. Dale Drier, Ronald Drier, Duane Drier; sister, Helen Beach; five grandchildren, Natalie Rivas, Wesley Rivas, Thomas Rivas, Jennifer Rivas, Jesse Drier.
A funeral was held April 19, 1996, at Harper-Morris Memorial Chapel. Burial was at Barrancas National Cemetery, with military honors.
