Herbert Dennis Robinson, 71, of Colonial Beach Road, died Saturday, April 20, 1996, at the Albemarle Hospital.
Born in Kansas City, Mo., he was retired from the U.S. Navy after 20 years, having served in World War II and Korea. He was retired from civil service, having worked as a nuclear electronic instructor at the Norfolk Naval Shipyard. Mr. Robinson was also a member of the Fleet Reserve and a Catholic.
Mr. Robinson was the husband of Ms. Lorilee Hoover Robinson of the home and the son of the late Ralph Roland Robinson and Margaret Hennessey Robinson.
Survivors include two daughters, Glory Bond of Arapahoe, N.C., and Nancy Woolery of Virginia Beach; a son, Dennis R. Robinson of San Antonio, Texas; two sisters, Margaret Ann Tjaden of San Antonio, Texas, and Frances Benesh of Houston; four grandchildren, Chad Polhamus of Virginia Beach, Robin Horton of Hampton, and Kelley and Krystle Williams, both of Virginia Beach.
The family will be at the residence of Mrs. Nancy Woolery, 5409 Brookfield Drive, Virginia Beach. A funeral service will be held in the chapel of Twiford Colonial Chapel, Great Bridge, Tuesday at 1 p.m. with Father Edward L. Richardson officiating. Burial will follow with full military honors at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 7 to 8:30 p.m. today in the funeral home.
