Pauline Virginia Honig Hogan, 88 of the 200 block of Warren Ave., died April 20, 1996 at Drinkard Health Care Center. She was the widow of Walter Jennings Hogan Sr.
Born in Lynchburg July 22, 1907, she was a daughter of the late Leonard Paul and Janie Chandler Honig. She was a member of West Lynchburg Baptist Church, where she taught Sunday School and was a counselor for the G.A.'s. She was a member of the Sunshine Sunday School Class and the Tillie Draper Circle. She was preceded in death by two granddaughters, Samantha Ann Hogan and Elizabeth Ann Hogan; a sister, Evelyn Honig Apffel; and three brothers, Julian Y. Honig, Loyd F. Honig and Henry R. Honig.
Mrs. Hogan is survived by four sons, Walter Jennings Hogan Jr. of Raleigh, N.C., Weymouth Edwin Hogan of Windham, Maine, Boyd Conrad Hogan of Suffolk and Gerald Wayne Hogan of Rochester Hills, Mich.; two daughters, Mrs. Bruce A. Hundley (Sheila) of Culpeper and Mrs. Harry W. Maddox of Lynchburg; a sister, Joyce Honig Ferguson of Lynchburg; 16 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.
A funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday in West Lynchburg Baptist Church with the Rev. James D. Newman and the Rev. T.W. Johnson officiating. Burial will follow at Fort Hill Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. today at Diuguid Rivermont Chapel. Those wishing to make memorials might consider the building fund of West Lynchburg Baptist Church or the American Cancer Society.
