Mildred M. Long, 78, of the 3200 block of Scott St., died April 19, 1996, in a Portsmouth hospital.
She was a nurses aide for the Emily Green Home until she retired after 19 years. She was a member of Westhaven Baptist Church, Miriam Sunday school class and Philathea Sunday school class. She was a native of Pleasant Hill, N.C.
She was predeceased by a daughter, Linda Mildred Long. She is survived by her daughter, Judy Yvonne Henry, and husband, David L. Henry of Chesapeake; son, R.J. Long of Chesapeake; brother, William Roland Massey of Roanoke Rapids, N.C.; five grandchildren, Richard Long, Kenneth Long, Lisa Long, Shannon Henry, and Chad Henry; and three great-grandchildren, Lauren Long, Andrew Long, and Logan Long; and family friend, Connie Baio of Chesapeake.
A funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday by the Rev. Thomas Wood in Westhaven Baptist Church. Burial will be in Olive Branch Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the Loving Funeral Home, Churchland, from 7 to 8 p.m. today and will also be at 232 Stubbs Drive, Chesapeake.
