James Guston Casper, 77, of the 2900 block of Morrison Place, died April 21, 1996 in Chesapeake.
Mr. Casper was born in South Norfolk and was a member of Southside Baptist Church in Chesapeake. He was retired from Royster Company as a crane operator and co-owned Casper's Florist. He was a veteran of the Merchant Marines and the U.S. Navy during World War II, and was a member of the Moose Lodge.
Survivors include his wife, Marie Miller Casper; three daughters, Nora Casper Nelms of Chesapeake, Deborah Yvonne Casper of Norfolk and Dorothy Marie Capron of Miami; two sons, James Albert Casper of Chesapeake and Joseph Anthony Casper of Edenton, N.C.; two sisters, Mandy Walker of Chesapeake and Catherine Garrett of Virginia Beach; a brother, Thomas Luther Casper of Chesapeake; nine grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
A funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Graham Funeral Home, South Norfolk Chapel, by the Rev. Willis Switzer. Burial will be in Woodlawn Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 7 to 8 p.m. today and at the residence at all other times.
