TIMOTHY J. OLTHOFF

Timothy Jon Olthoff, 25, of Louvick St., died on Sunday, April 21, 1996 after living his life to the fullest while fighting cancer.

Timothy was a senior at St. Andrews Presbyterian College in Laurinburg, N.C., majoring in computer graphics and sculpture. He had previously attended Oakdale Christian School in Grand Rapids, Mich., Friend's School in Virginia Beach, Norview High School in Norfolk and Thomas Nelson Community College in Newport News. He had worked for The Virginian-Pilot and The Ledger-Star newspapers, John Kool Lincoln-Mercury, Farm Fresh, Tidewater Community College and Pizza Hut. He was a member of Royster Memorial Presbyterian Church and participated in Medical Group Missions in Honduras in 1988-89. His generosity, warmth, hugs, love, humor, energy, height and fortitude are a loss for all who knew and loved him.

Timothy was the beloved son of Harry D. and Nancy A. Olthoff of Norfolk. Other survivors include a sister, Sarah K. Olthoff of Williamsburg, Va.; an adopted brother, Larry S. Olthoff of Michigan; his grandparents, the Rev. John H. and Sara S. Olthoff of Oostburg, Wis.; and several uncles, aunts and cousins who live in Michigan and Wisconsin.

Friends are invited to a memorial service at 11 a.m. Saturday, April 27, in Royster Memorial Presbyterian Church on Newport Avenue with the Rev. Dr. John R. Monroe and the Rev. Dr. Thomas Wolthuis officiating. The family will be at Cox Funeral Home on Tuesday evening from 7 to 9 p.m. for visitation. Timothy will be buried at a private family service in Forest Lawn Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family request memorial contributions be made to the Timothy Jon Olthoff Scholarship Fund, c/o St. Andrews Presbyterian College, Development Office, 1700 Dogwood Lane, Laurinburg, N.C. 28352. Cox Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
