CLARENCE L. MANN

Clarence L. Mann, 87, of the 700 block of Johnson Ave., died Saturday, April 20, 1996, in Veterans Administration Medical Center, Hampton.

Mr. Mann was a native of Norfolk and the son of Joseph Mann and Lenora Cogdell Mann Williams. He was a self-employed plasterer and dry wall contractor. He worked with the general contracting firm of Clark-Whitehall in several developments in Virginia Beach and Norfolk. He was a lifelong member of Wesley Union AME Zion Church, during which time he had been a trustee, a member of the Steward Board, as well as a faithful member. He was an Army veteran of World War II.

Survivors include his wife, Ruby V. Mann of the home; a daughter, Ruby Mann Pool of Virginia Beach; a son, Clarence T. Mann of Raleigh, N.C.; six grandchildren; a daughter-in-law, Debra Mann; and a son-in-law, Edward Pool.

A funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. Wednesday in Wesley Union AME Zion Church, 708 Johnson Ave., by the Rev. P.N. Shannon. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. Viewing will be from 2 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Riddick Funeral Service, where the family will receive friends from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. The body will be placed in the church at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday.
