Police questioned four teenagers late Saturday after they were stopped while driving away from a school just minutes after a burglar alarm went off at the site.
Police were sent to Bayside Middle School in the 900 block of Newtown Road just before 10 p.m.
One of the responding officers spotted a car leaving the grounds and stopped it, police said. The car was occupied by two 15-year-old high school students and a 14- and 13-year-old who attend Bayside Middle School.
Officers found evidence of a break-in at the school and an officer was sent in with a K-9 dog. Inside, he found a suspicious device. Erring on the side of caution, the police bomb squad was called in and used a robot to remove the device. It was not an explosive.
Police have not charged the teenagers with the break-in. The incident remains under investigation. by CNB
