CELEBRITIES ARE READY TO WAIT ON YOU

HAVE YOU EVER wanted to give Virginia Beach Mayor Meyera Oberndorf a few tips? Ever think you might like to order around the editors of this newspaper?

Now's your chance. The tips, however, have to be cash - $10s and $20s would be nice - and the orders have to involve food. And speak S-L-O-W-L-Y.

An entire cast of media, political and entertainment celebrities will be dispatched to restaurants across South Hampton Roads Thursday to serve as waiters and waitresses from 6 to 10 p.m. (Don't worry. Professionals will be on hand to help them out.)

All tips and a percentage of restaurant receipts will be donated to the Hampton Roads Committee for Prevention of Child Abuse.

The goal of the 14th annual Celebrity Night is to raise $17,000 to help protect children through public education, resource materials, referral services and programs to help families and children.
