Lydia Rorrer Cox, 92, formerly of Floyd County, passed away Sunday, April 21, 1996, in a Virginia Beach nursing home.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Joel C. Cox Sr., and a son, Joel C. Cox Jr. Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, James T. and Blanche Cox of Virginia Beach; a brother, Ralph Rorrer of Bedford; four grandchildren, William T. Cox of Roanoke, Deborah Cox of Roanoke, Joel C. Cox III of Richmond, and Martha Horowitz of Charlotte, N.C.; and four great-grandchildren.
Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. today at Jacksonville Cemetery, Floyd, with the Rev. Donald E. Stansell and members of Floyd Rebekah Lodge (NU)77 officiating. The family will receive friends from noon until service time at the Maberry Funeral Home, Floyd.
