LULA D. LEWIS

Lula Davenport Lewis, of the 3000 block of Tyre Neck Road, passed away April 24, 1996, in her residence.

Mrs. Lewis was the widow of W.O. Lewis. She was born in Meadowview, Va., to the late Dr. W.L. and Lula Gobble Davenport, on May 14, 1911. She resided in Amelia County until moving to the Tidewater area in 1950.

Survivors include a son, W. Ashton Lewis and his wife, Louise, of Chesapeake; three grandchildren, Susan L. Lewis, Ashton Lewis Jr. and Charles L. Lewis, all of Norfolk; a brother, William E. ``Zeke'' Davenport of Chesapeake; and a host of nephews and nieces.

A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Friday in Olive Branch Cemetery by the Rev. Lewis Wall. A visitation will be held from 7 to 9 p.m. today at Snellings Funeral Home, Churchland Chapel. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Eastern Virginia Medical School Foundation in her memory.
