W. IRVING BROTHERS JR.

Walter Irving Brothers Jr., 74, of 1501 Bayberry Court, and of Pinellas Park, Fla., died Sunday, April 21, 1996, in St. Petersburg, Fla.

A native of Norfolk County, he was the son of the late Walter Irving Brothers and Elmira Munden Brothers. He retired as manager of the Note Department of Crestar Bank, Suffolk branch. He was a member of the American Bankers Assn. He attended Oak Grove United Methodist Church, and was a Navy veteran of World War II.

Survivors include three sisters, Margaret B. Smith of Elizabeth City, Hellon B. Wood and Edith B. Sykes, both of Virginia Beach; a close friend, D.W. ``Bill'' Pryor of Chesapeake and numerous nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be held Friday at 11 a.m. in Hampton Veterans Memorial Gardens, Hampton, with Swindell Funeral Home, Hertford, N.C., in charge of arrangements. The family will receive friends today from 7 to 9 p.m. at the residence, 1501 Bayberry Court N., Chesapeake. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.
