A steel frame marks the beginning of the new I.C. Norcom High School

in the 1800 block of London Blvd. ``Everything's proceeding really

well,'' Assistant City Engineer Rock Bell said early this week. ``We

lost some time over the winter because of the bad weather, but we're

just about back on track.'' The 1,800-student school, estimated to

cost $38 million, is scheduled for completion in July 1997. The

campus will include a 5,000-seat football stadium, tennis courts and

a baseball field. ``The building is going to be quite a bit wider,

but that's as tall as it's going to get,'' Bell said. The new Norcom

is on the former site of the original Woodrow Wilson High School and

Frank D. Lawrence Stadium, between High Street and London Boulevard.
