Howard W. Brown Sr., died April 24, 1996, at Prince Georges Community Hospital.
He was the beloved father of Janet P. Brown of Bowie, Md., Sandra Coleman and Rita Rogers, both of Virginia Beach, Teresa M. Byrd of Chesapeake, Parthenia Mayo of Norfolk; and one son, Howard W. Brown Jr. of Washington, D.C.; and former husband of Parthenia Brown. He is also survived by two brothers, Lee and Robert M. Brown, both of Chesapeake; and one sister, Gertie Wilson of Chesapeake; nine grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
There will be a viewing today from 6 until 8 p.m. at Community Funeral Home, Norfolk. The family will assemble at the home of Rita Rogers, 2896 Sugar Maple Drive, Virginia Beach, Saturday for the funeral services which will be held at 1 p.m. at New Galilee Baptist Church, Great Bridge Boulevard, Chesapeake, by the Rev. Anderson O. Foreman Jr., pastor. Internment is in Roosevelt Cemetery, Chesapeake. Arrangements were made by Austin Royster Funeral Home, Washington, D.C., and Community Funeral Home, Norfolk.
