Archie L. Bowie, 87, the loving husband of Hilda Estes Bowie, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, April 24, 1996.
Archie was a charter member of Norview Presbyterian Church, an elder and also taught the Men's Bible Class for 20 years. He retired from civil service after 30 years, after which he was employed by the city of Norfolk. Retiring from that position, he greatly enjoyed being close to the water, working at Bubba's Marina for three different employers until four years ago.
Besides leaving his beloved wife, there are a number of nieces and nephews who will miss this very special loved one, as well as many friends.
Funeral services will be conducted Saturday at 11 am. in Smith and Williams Funeral Home, Norfolk Chapel. The family will receive friends in the funeral home today from 7 to 8 p.m. Contributions may be give in honor of Archie to the Norview Presbyterian Church, Norview Ave., Norfolk.
