Carl D. Freeman, 59, died April 23, 1996, in a Norfolk hospital.
He was a native of Saratoga, N.Y., and was an Army veteran of the Korean War. He was a former member of the Newton Fire Department of Newton, N.J.
He is survived by his wife, Thora Freeman; daughter, Dari Hamm of Montague, N.J.; son, Richard Kinney of Virginia Beach; three sisters, Phyliss Van Denburgh of Boston Spa, N.Y., Marian Campman of Albany, N.Y., Gladys McCall of Auburn, N.Y.; brother, David Freeman of Auburn; and eight grandchildren. He was predeceased by his son, Virgil Kinney.
The body will be sent to Smith-McCracken Funeral Home, Newton, for services and burial. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Vida. Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Bayside Chapel, is in charge.
