Francis Joseph Fredette, of the 8800 block of Devon St., died Wednesday, April 24, 1996, peacefully at home.
He was a native of Vermont and the son of the late Francis Joseph and Arlene Cobb Fredette. He was a member of the Basilica of St. Mary of the Immaculate Conception where he was a member of the Rosary Circle and a volunteer for the soup kitchen. He was a Navy veteran and served in Vietnam. Mr. Fredette was a retired licensed practical nurse and he worked at Hillhaven and Manning Nursing Homes.
He is survived by his companion for over 10 years, his care giver, and most importantly, his friend, Leon E. Riddick of the home; daughter, Arlene F. Bishop of Benson, Vt.; two sons, Gene F. Fredette of Raleigh, Francis J. Fredette III of Rutland, Vt.; sister, Sandra Pratt; brother, Robert Fredette; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, other relatives and friends.
A funeral will be conducted at noon Tuesday by Father Walter C. Barrett in Basilica of St. Mary of the Immaculate Conception. Burial is in Calvary Cemetery. Viewing will be Monday from 2 to 8 p.m. at Riddick Funeral Service. There will be a Christian wake at the funeral home Monday at 7 p.m.
