Belvin Blanco Blandford passed on April 25, 1996, in the Grand Strand Medical Center in Myrtle Beach, S.C., succumbing to complications brought on by emphysema.
Mrs. Blandford, a native of Richmond, Va., was the daughter of the late Col. and Mrs. Mark A. Rollins and resided with her husband of 30 years Roland Blandford in Virginia Beach. Mrs. Blandford was a graduate of William and Mary with post graduate work at the University of North Carolina. She was an acclaimed social worker with the National Institutes of Health and was listed in Who's Who of American Women. She was an active member of the Daughters of the American Revolution and an ardent family historian.
She is survived by six grandchildren; two stepsons; her brother, Donald C. Rollins of Durham, N.C.; and her beloved husband, Roland Gill Blandford.
A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday at Old Donation Episcopal Church, 4449 N. Witchduck Road, Virginia Beach, with the Rev. John Emmert officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Lung Association. Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Bayside Chapel, is in charge.
