Charles W. Tippett, 77, of Tulip Drive, died April 25, 1996, in his residence.
He was a retired civil service employee and had been a sheet metal worker at Norfolk Naval Shipyard. He was a member of St. Gregory the Great Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus Council (NU)367 in Norfolk. Mr. Tippett was a native of Norfolk.
He is survived by his wife, Cecil Y. Tippett; a daughter, Joan T. Chittum of Virginia Beach; a son, Lawrence C. Tippett of Virginia Beach; a brother, James S. Tippett of Virginia Beach; three grandsons and a great-granddaughter.
A funeral will be held on Monday at 10 a.m. at St. Gregory the Great Catholic Church with Father Paschal Kniep O.S.B. officiating. Burial will be in Rosewood Memorial Park. Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Bayside Chapel is in charge. The family will be at the funeral home Sunday 5-6 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to one's favorite charity.
