CHARLIE BROWN JR.

Charlie Brown Jr. of the first block of Grand St. died April 26, 1996, in Maryview Hospital.

He was born in Newsoms, Va., and was a retired civil service employee. He worked at Portsmouth Naval Hospital for 35 years. He was a former member of Mt. Gilead A.M.E. Church, Newsoms, Va. He was a U.S. Army veteran.

He is survived by three brothers, James T. Brown of Portsmouth, and Linwood and Glenwood Brown, both of Franklin; in-laws, relatives and friends.

A funeral will be conducted Monday at 11 a.m. at Corprew Funeral Home Chapel by Elder Samuel Moore. Burial will be in Olive Branch Cemetery, Portsmouth, with military honors. Viewing will begin at noon Sunday at the funeral home. The family will be at the home of his brother, James T. Brown, 37 Emerson St., and will assemble at the funeral home at 10:30 a.m. Monday for the funeral service.
