Carmine J. ``Connie'' DeMaio Sr., 80, of the 7900 block of E. Glen Road, died April 26, 1996, in his home.
Mr. DeMaio, a native of Norfolk, was a retired firefighter for the city of Norfolk after 30 years. He was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church and a member of Knights of Columbus (NU)369.
Survivors include his wife, Peggy DeMaio; two daughters, Peggy DeMaio and Teresa DeMaio Stone of Carrollton; a son, Carmine J. DeMaio Jr. of Virginia Beach; a sister, Augustine Huber of Missouri; six grandchildren, Denny, Wendy, Bobby, James, John and Larkin; a great-grandchild, Shannen; and a special friend, Goose Odom.
The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Monday at Smith and Williams Funeral Home, Norfolk Chapel. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery. The family will receive friends in the funeral home from 7 to 8 p.m. Sunday.
