High winds and waterspouts in Roanoke Sound were reported by Dare County officials Friday afternoon as a storm front blew over the Outer Banks.
Sandy Sanderson, director of emergency management, said the spouts were reported in the Manns Harbor area. But no property damage was reported.
``We had gusts of up to 40 miles per hour, but no reports of any damage,'' Sanderson said.
The heavy weather was part of a front that hit the eastern coast of the Carolinas Friday afternoon. A second front was expected to hit the area later Friday evening. A tornado watch was issued Friday afternoon for eastern North and South Carolina. by CNB
