2 BODIES DISCOVERED IN PARK PLACE HOME; CASE RULED HOMICIDE

Police launched a double-homicide investigation Friday after two bodies were found in a Park Place apartment.

Police were called about 11:25 a.m. by someone who had found the bodies in a downstairs unit of the two-story building in the 200 block of W. 26th Street.

``It appears the bodies were there no more than 24 hours,'' police spokesman Larry Hill said.

However, police would not disclose the sex of the victims. Because of makeup on the victims, their physiques and the position in which the bodies were found, police were not sure whether they were men or women, Hill said.

A neighbor, who asked not to be identified, said the pair had been living there for about a month.

Hill did not say where in the two-bedroom apartment the bodies were found, nor did he speculate on the cause of death except to say: ``This is definitely a homicide case.''

The bodies were taken late Friday afternoon to the State Medical Examiner's office. by CNB
