The food shops at Portside opened in mid-April, but the official opening will be Thursday, when the Rhondels kick off the entertainment season with a 6 p.m. concert.
The opening concert will continue the custom of spotlighting groups on Thursdays. Acoustic music will be featured 6-9 p.m. every Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
On Friday Melvin's Flea Circus will perform on the Portside stage. The Third will play Saturday, and Andy Hengle will be featured Sunday, May 5.
The first Portside Boat Show, featuring power boats from seven Hampton Roads dealers, will be displayed on land at Portside from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, May 5-6.
Spectators will be permitted to dock their boats along the Seawall at Portside.
