Violet R. Kern, 89, formerly of Brighton Gardens by Marriott, died April 26, 1996.
Mrs. Kern was a native of West Pittston, Pa. She was the widow of Frank A. Kern, who was the founder of Valley Poultry Company of Norfolk and resided in Norfolk and Virginia Beach since 1937. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Norfolk.
Survivors include a son, Donald F. Kern, a practicing dentist of Virginia Beach; six grandchildren, Frank L. Kern and Donald Lance Kern, both of Virginia Beach, April K. Korfiotis of Tampa, Fla., Kimberly E. Kern, Carrie L. Kern and Ashley Blair Kern, all of Virginia Beach; and three great-grandchildren.
A chapel service will be conducted at 10 a.m. Monday, April 29, 1996, at H.D. Oliver Funeral Apartments, Laskin Road, by the Rev. Daniel Quiram. Interment will be Tuesday, April 30, 1996, at Mountain View Cemetery, in Harding, Pa. The family will receive friends today from 5 until 6:30 p.m. in the funeral home.
