John E. Cooke Sr., 86, of the 1700 block of Cromwell Drive, died April 27, 1996, in Sentara Leigh Hospital.
Born in Norfolk, he was the widower of Eva M. Cooke. He was a retired plumber and city plumbing inspector.
He is survived by a son, John E. Cooke Jr. of Chesapeake; a sister, Catherine Keller of Norfolk; three grandchildren, John K. Cooke of Norfolk, Kevin Cooke and Jay Cooke of Chesapeake; and great-granddaughter, Jennifer K. Cooke of Norfolk.
A graveside service will be 3 p.m. Monday by Dr. Paul C. Lawson in Forest Lawn Cemetery. The family will be at Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Tidewater Drive Chapel, today from 7 to 9 p.m.
