JOSEPH D. DIFERNANDO

Joseph Dominick DiFernando of Norfolk passed into eternity April 26, 1996. He was a devoted husband, father, and friend, and he touched the lives of many.

Mr. DiFernando was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church. He served his country in the U.S. Navy during World War II and was a dedicated civil servant for 38 years.

He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Dorothy L. DiFernando of Norfolk; a brother, Dominick DiFernando of Coatsville, Pa.; two sisters, Virginia Day of Austin, Texas, and Rose DiDomenico of Devon, Pa.; two sons, Joe DiFernando of Norfolk and Bobby DiFernando of Chesapeake; four daughters, Rose Ann Thibodeau of Woodstock, Ga., Teresa Rockefeller of Chesapeake, Bonnie Servais of Norfolk, and Jeannie Ives of Chesapeake; 18 grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.

A service will be conducted by Fr. Lou Ruoff at Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Tidewater Drive Chapel at 1 p.m. Tuesday. Burial will be in Rosewood Memorial Park. Family and friends will be at the funeral home from 7 to 9 p.m. Monday for visitation and at 774 Sheppard Ave., Norfolk, at all other times.
