Leland Chester Wade, 69, of the 5900 block of Bertrand St., died April 27, 1996, in a Hampton hospital.
A native of Wilson, N.C., he was the widower of Irene Denton Wade. He was retired from Associated Naval Architects, Portsmouth, as a shipfitter and was an Army veteran of World War II.
Survivors include his daughter, Rose Merry Tuazon of Chesapeake; two sons, Michael Lee Wade of Portsmouth and William Earl Wade of Chesapeake; three sisters, Clara Liles of Sanford, N.C., Pauline Carneal of Portsmouth, Etheline Turner of Georgia; four grandchildren, Kimberly Tuazon, Andy Tuazon, Donovan Wade of Chesapeake and Dayna Abbott of Carrollton, Va.
A funeral will be Tuesday at 11 a.m. in Sturtevant Funeral Home Chapel, Portsmouth Blvd. Chapel, by the Rev. Marilyn and Robert Danner. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Monday from 7 to 9 p.m. and will be at the residence at other times.
