ALMA J. WEEKS

Alma Jennings Weeks, 82, of West Main Street Extd. and a former resident of Carolina Living, died in Winslow Nursing Home on Saturday, April 27, 1996.

Born in Pasquotank County, N.C., she was a retired public school teacher, a member of Berea Baptist Church, a Sunday school teacher, a member of The Women's Missionary Union, Elizabeth City Senior Citizen and Alpha Delta Kappa Sorority and Retired Teachers Association.

Mrs. Weeks was the daughter of the late Seth David and Lillian Bateman Jennings and widow of Herbert Linwood Weeks Sr.

Survivors include a daughter, Faye W. Peter of Zionsville, Ind.; a son, H. Linwood Weeks Jr. of Elizabethtown, N.C.; two sisters, Virginia C. Jennings of Elizabeth City, N.C., and Ima L. Jennings of Norfolk; a brother, Jesse H. Jennings of Portsmouth; and three grandchildren, David, Chris, and Jon Peter and many nieces and nephews; and was predeceased by a brother, Samuel H. Jennings.

Visitation will be on Monday at Twiford's Memorial Chapel from 7 to 8:30 p.m. and at other times the family will be at the Jennings residence 2973 W. Main Street Extd., Elizabeth City. Funeral services will be Tuesday in the funeral home with the Rev. Glen Greenway officiating, assisted by the Rev. Dennis Shaw. Burial will be in Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to Berea Baptist Church, Providence Fire Department or one's favorite charity.
