I am writing to you to tell you about my experience working with Tommy White, Norfolk City Council candidate. For almost two years, I worked for the American Heart Association as the Virginia Beach area director. Tommy was very involved in one of the AHA's largest annual fund-raisers, the Virginia Beach Cardiac Arrest.
He became involved because Sheriff Frank Drew was chairman. After Sheriff Drew ``retired'' from the event, Tommy continued to serve as a member of our committee.
He was recruited primarily to help recruit and organize volunteers from the sheriff's department, a job he did very well. However, he far exceeded this commitment by putting in extra time and effort to recruit a large number of ``arrestees'' for the event. His hard work made him one of the top fund-raisers on our committee.
I called upon him on many occasions and he was always ready, willing and able to assist in any way that he could. He was, and still is, a vital resource to the American Heart Association. I strongly believe Tommy White would be an asset to the Norfolk City Council.
