EVELYN W. GRAY

Evelyn Wise Gray, 88, of Kill Devil Hills, died Saturday, April 27, 1996, in an Elizabeth City hospital.

Mrs. Gray, a native of Nags Head, N.C., was a homemaker and a member of Nags Head Baptist Church. She was the daughter of the late John P. and Mary Beasley Wise and the widow of the late Walter B. Gray Sr.

Mrs. Gray is survived by three daughters, Iris June Perry and Lynn Gray Jackson, both of Kill Devil Hills, N.C., and Valerie G. Daniels of Wanchese, N.C.; a son, Walter B. Gray Jr. of Virginia Beach; four sisters, Edna Koger of Port St. Joe, Fla., Thelma Beasley of Manteo, N.C., Alva Parker of Norfolk, and Ruby Buff of Manteo, N.C.; 18 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

Funeral services will be conducted at Twiford's Colony Chapel, Manteo, Wednesday at 11 a.m. with the Rev. David Daniels and the Rev. David Dalton officiating. Burial will follow in Dolly Cemetery in Nags Head, N.C. The family will receive friends at the funeral home today from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.
