Mary M. Barrett, 78, died April 28, 1996, in a Virginia Beach Hospital.
She was a native of Philadelphia, Pa., and the widow of U.S. Navy Captain Alcus Earl Barrett (Ret.). She was a member of Little Creek Amphibious Base Catholic Chapel, where she belonged to the Ladies Altar Guild of the Church. She was also a member of the Retired Officer's Wives Club and she was a volunteer for Meals on Wheels.
She is survived by two daughters, U.S. Navy Lt. Cmdr. Kathleen M. Barrett (Ret.) of Virginia Beach and Marianne M. Barrett of Virginia Beach.
A Mass of the Resurrection will be conducted at 10 a.m. Thursday by Father Joseph A. Ceriello in Little Creek Amphibious Base Chapel. Burial is in Quantico National Cemetery, Friday at 11 a.m. A Christian Wake service will be held at Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Bayside Chapel, Wednesday at 7 p.m. where the family will remain to receive friends until 9 p.m.
