Roland Edward Garrett, 74, of Route 5, Box 56, died Tuesday afternoon, April 30, 1996, in his home.
A native of Princess Anne County, he was the son of the late Henry F. Garrett and Vera Baines Garrett. He was a retired mechanic with civil service and an Army veteran of World War II.
Survivors include his wife, Mary Earnhardt Garrett; two sons, Robert T. Garrett of Virginia Beach and James E. Garrett of Suffolk; two grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.
No services are being planned. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Albemarle Hospice, c/o PPCC District Health Department, P.O. Box 189, Elizabeth City, N.C., 27907. Swindell Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
