WILLIE M. ROBERTS

Willie Mae Roberts of the 5800 block of Burton Station Road died April 29, 1996.

She was a native of Halifax County, N.C., and the widow of William T. Roberts. Mrs. Roberts was a member of Ebenezer Baptist Church, Virginia Beach, where she was involved with Sunday School Class (NU)2.

She is survived by a daughter, Renee Geter of Richmond, Va.; seven sisters, Shirley Anderson of Bowling Green, Va., Vernell Jackson of Phoenix, Ariz., Lucille Purnell of New York, Burnette Shearin, Elaine Walker and Mary Mosley, all of Richmond, and Lowraine Holmes of King William, Va.; two brothers, Alem Purnell of Virginia Beach and Tommie Purnell of Richnond; two grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends; sisters-in-law Viola Roberts and Nettie V. Hawkins, both of Virginia Beach, and Martha Purnell of Roanoke Rapids, N.C. She was predeceased by a brother, Clarence Purnell Jr.

A funeral will be conducted at noon Saturday by the Rev. C.K. Jones in Ebenezer Baptist Church, Virginia Beach. Burial will be in Ebenezer Church Cemetery. Community Funeral Home, Norfolk Chapel, is in charge.
