Catherine Miller MacPherson, 87, of the 3700 block of Western Branch Blvd., died April 30, 1996, in her home.
Mrs. MacPherson, a longtime resident of Portsmouth, was retired from the Portsmouth Naval Hospital as a medical personnel records specialist. She was a member of Court Street Baptist Church and was the widow of Walter Reeve MacPherson.
Survivors include a daughter, Evangeline Sacks of LaCosta, Calif.; two sons, John L. MacPherson of San Antonio, Texas, and Mercer R. MacPherson of San Juan Capistrano, Calif.; six grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; a sister, Genevieve Guinn of Huntington, W.Va.; and a brother Walter ``Pat'' Miller of Charleston, W.Va. She was preceded in death by a grandson, John D. MacPherson.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at Foster Funeral Home, Portsmouth. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens. Friends may join the family today from 7 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorial donations may be made to the Endowment Fund of Court Street Baptist Church.
